I wanted the surrounding beauty to speak for itself in this shoot. The ocean spilling into the bay can be seen from the museum sidelines and the alabaster white columns and sculptures that greet you on your walk up to the front gates are enough to take your breath away all on their own.
I was inspired by the French neoclassical architecture of the museum itself. It is as if you are taken back in time when you walk through the columned halls and we knew that simplicity was key for this stunning venue.
Through the medium of film, Rachel Haylie Photography effortlessly captured the classic elegance of a bride and groom and through each image wove together a story giving the viewer a glimpse into the heartwarming anticipation and dreamlike state of a wedding day.
I chose a color palette that went along with the muted ivory, grey, and lilac stonework found adorning the walls and grounds. The intricate lace on the brides Made With Love “Stevie” dress flowed against the marble stonework in a graceful pool glistening like the sunlight catching on the ocean.
I was thrilled and honored to be able to showcase multiple amazing vendors through this shoot. From the gorgeous wedding ring by Susie Saltzman that complemented the beautiful blush tones in the stonework, to the ethereal floral’s and hair adornments, every piece fit together perfectly.
The stationary suite by Carli Anna was comprised of simple type forms on fine art paper that bring to mind the architecture of the museum and a hand-drawn floral sketch mirrored the soft, feminine details that were so prominent throughout this beautiful shoot.
The dark wood on the vintage cake table from Found was striking yet familiar against the stone marble work. It felt as though it has always been there as we placed it against the tarnished walls, as if it had held years of tableware for guests coming and going throughout the halls.
This shoot was truly special, as if we had stepped back in time and into a dream. From the soft, ethereal details to the imposing beauty of the architecture, we couldn’t help but be mesmerized the entire time as we saw a breathtaking dream come together and unfold into something timeless and perfect.
