Styled Shoot Notes

Set at the Legion of Honor, I wanted the surrounding beauty to speak for itself. From the museum sidelines, the ocean spilling into the bay can be seen. In addition, the alabaster white columns and sculptures that greet you on your walk up to the front gates are enough to take your breath away all on their own.

The Photographer

Inspired by the French neoclassical architecture, we knew that simplicity was key for this stunning venue. Through the medium of film, Rachel Haylie Photography effortlessly captured the classic elegance of a bride and groom. Above all, she wove together a story in each image, giving the viewer a glimpse into the heartwarming anticipation and dreamlike state of a wedding day.

The Color Palette

For the color palette, I chose muted ivory, grey, and lilac tones to go along with the stonework. The intricate lace on the bride’s dress flowed against the marble stonework in a graceful pool, glistening like the sunlight catching on the ocean.

Multiple amazing vendors were showcased through this shoot, for instance, Susie Saltzman’s gorgeous wedding ring that complemented the blush tones in the stonework, ethereal florals, and hair adornments that fit together perfectly.

The Stationery Suite

The stationary suite by Carli Anna was comprised of simple type forms on fine art paper that brought to mind the architecture of the museum. The hand-drawn floral sketch mirrored the soft, feminine details that were prominent throughout the shoot.

The vintage cake table from Found had dark wood that was striking yet familiar against the stone marble work. In other words, it felt as though it has always been there, holding years of tableware for guests coming and going throughout the halls.

In short, this shoot was truly special. From the soft, ethereal details to the imposing beauty of the architecture, we couldn’t help but be mesmerized the entire time. Above all, we saw a breathtaking dream come together and unfold into something timeless and perfect.
